Top Women’s Skis for 2021-2022
We love the latest ladies skis, as the ergonomic engineering and designs keep improving (like fine wine and fabulous women). We gals want that perfect ski that takes us from first chair – crushing cord or fluffy first tracks, to end of the day stability in skied up snow. Gals want strong edge grip so we don’t slip. We also love a woman’s ski that’s not just pink and lighter and shorter than traditional men’s skis. See our Guide to finding the right women’s ski for you!
Our favorite female skis, tested by gals, designed with your ski style and center of gravity in mind. Mind you we’ve not skied all the ladies’ ski – good news that there are now fleets of gals ski!
Women’s Best All Mountain Skis – when you can only bring one pair!
Blizzard Sheeva 10 is fun but fierce. Heather skis the entire mountain, and finds this to be her quiver killer. Sheeva floats through moderate pow, carves on hard pack and grips and rips on groomers. At 102 underfoot Sheeva 10 scores a 10. For big pow gals, Sheeva 11 floats at 112mm too.
Rossignol Black Ops Rallybird is a good big fun cruiser. Not super quick, but strong and stable at speed and in big snow. Rallybird is 101mm underfoot.
Rossignol’s Black Ops Stargazer is more of a front-side all mountain ski for gals who want a bit more forgiveness, its lighter and more playful at 92mm.
Volkl Secret 96 is a winning women’s ski – no longer a “secret”. Based on the popular men’s Volkl Mantra M5, The Secret is fast, fun, edgy, and a little floaty in soft snow. If you want more pow – look at the Big Mountain Secret 102. Share this Secret with your ski gal pals. Volkl Blaze 106 is a big beautiful green powder machine, quick and floaty in trees.
Head Kore 93 W was modeled after Head’s wildly popular Wild Joy series. The KORE is fast and stable on hard snow, loves to carve smooth arcs, and has just the right amount of snap with its sheet of polyester fleece and a patented “core” of graphene (a thin carbon layer). Head Kore 99W and Head Kore 105W are the big sisters for all mountain off piste and big snow.
Blizzard Black Pearl 98 is a top selling women’s ski for good reason. This Austrian wardrobe essential Pearl is snappy and fast, but smooth and silky in less-than perfect snow. While the Pearl is not a big pow skis, its versatile enough for gals that occasionally explore off-piste.
Top Women’s Front Side Skis
For ladies that like their cord, their packed pow, carving beautiful arcs on their favorite ski trails…
Blizzard Black Pearl 88 is our “go to” girls’ ski, versatile for varying front side conditions. Your Pearls are smooth but substantial, ready to rip groomers, or occasional crud. We loved the Black Pearl at first sight in 2012, and the ski line continues to evolve – this iteration is stiffer than the classic.
Rossignol Experience W 86 Basalt is lightweight but quick underfoot and responsive with real dampening at speeds and chunky snow. The Experience is a great ladies front side ski for confident women.
Stockli Nela 80 is heralded as the Front-side Queen with its narrow waist, light core, rocker tip and tail, Nela is smooth, flexible, and fun, but rips on demand for strong females.
Armada Reliance 88C is playful, fun, forgiving – if that’s your lady preference. Not super stable at high speed so enjoy the scenery and the cool white gold Armada graphics.
Women’s Best Value Ski
