Mount Sunapee New Hampshire Skiing

Mount Sunapee is a great place for ski families, since 1948. Its a pretty mountain with a beautiful lake below. Located in southern New Hampshire, not too far off I-93 and I-89, near the pretty towns of New London and Newbury. Since 2018 Mount Sunapee is part of Vail Resorts Epic Pass which means great value and BIG crowds.

For years Sunapee was managed by Tim and Diane Mueller, along with Vermont sister resort Okemo before Vail Resorts cobbled it up.

Though Sunapee is far from big, every family member will find their kind of terrain, from groomed cruisers, to glades or moguls to a very mellow separate beginner area with 13 designated trails. Sunapee also offer great lift ticket deals, so its ideal for a ski day trip.

Sunapee’s Children’s Center is state of the art for learning kids (and anxious parents). The four terrain parks and superpipe will keep teens rocking on their boards, or hitting Sunapee’s Big Air Bag. The panoramic views of Lake Sunapee from Mt Sunapee’s summit are fabulous.

Expansion of Mount Sunapee’s West Bowl has been approved the State of NH, for 4 new ski trails on 56 acres, a new quad lift, lodge and magic carpet at the new West base area to be developed. Much of Sunapee’s ski terrain is in the Mount Sunapee State Forest. Historically, Mount Sunapee opened in 1948 with a 3,300′ North Peak single chair, three trails, two rope tows and the North Peak Lodge.
