New Hampshire’s third largest ski resort, Attitash Mountain Resort, has two big interconnected mountains for skiing and riding – Attitash and Bear Peak. Located in Bartlett New Hampshire just above North Conway, Attitash is easy to get to and offers terrain diversity for the entire family, plus on mountain lodging. From Attitash Peak’s long winding trails like Tightrope and Saco, to exciting glades and wide-open cruisers on Bear Peak like Wandering Skis and Morning Star plus a few steeper pitched runs Avenger and Kachina -there’s nothing too extreme. You can ski between the two peaks relatively easily – follow the well placed Bears and Attitash signs.
The views of the Presidential Range from both peaks are spectacular, and each Attitash and Bear Peak offer convenient parking and a base lodge with skier services, dining and a bar. On the Attitash side, you will find the impressive Learning Center, with ski school and a dedicated triple chair learning area with a magic carpet as well. Ptarmigan’s Pub at Attitash’s base lodge is the better bar and sit down dining with a view of the slopes. Here you can also get a ride on the Nor’Easter Mountain coaster, just $10 a ride with your lift ticket or pass.
On the Bear Peak side is on mountain lodging, the Attitash Grand Summit Hotel with an outdoor heated pool, perfect for a family après ski. Bear Peak also has two beginner trails and a handle tow free for new skiers and riders to use as part of their “Learn2” initiative. The Attitash Bear Peak on snow experience is typically well-covered and groomed.
Attitash is a fun ski area to hit when visiting the Mt Washington Valley and North Conway. You have lots of lodging options between the chain hotels, inn and resorts in North Conway, slopeside condos and the Grand Summit Hotel at Attitash, or the quaint town of Jackson where you will find lovely inns like The Wentworth and Eagle Mountain House.
Attitash is now EPIC, along with Wildcat just 20-minutes away, and your lift ticket is valid at both, and on Vail’s Epic Pass for 2019-202. You can ski the morning at Attitash and go to Wildcat in the afternoon for example, or make a weekend of skiing the two. Vail Resorts is acquiring Peaks Resorts including Crotched and Mount Snow in Vermont, Hunter, Jack Frost and Big Boulder in The Poconos.
Summer time, Attitash heats up with an alpine slide, Aquaboggan water slides, horseback riding, scenic sky rides on the chairlift, mountain bike trails, and the Nor’Easter Mountain Coaster – which goes up 1,420′ before descending the exciting and scenic 2,880′ at speeds of 25 mph, with a 318′ vertical drop. Attitash’s “Zip Tour” from the summit of Bear Peak to the mountain base travels heights of up to 40 feet and almost 5,000 feet in length, the longest, single-span zip line in the continental United States, out spanning Gunstock’s zipline.
