Montela Hotel & Resort in Saas-Grund offers lovely modern alpine condos, ideal for a ski holiday in the Saas Fee Valley with its three ski areas. Montela is the only 4-star property in Saas Grund, with its conemporary cluster of 6 newer wood apartment buildings in the village of Saas-Grund. For skiers, you are walking distance to the Saas-Grund ski lifts, and a short bus ride to Saas-Fee and Saas-Almagell skiing.
Montela’s beautiful condo apartments built in 2017 are spacious, very neat, with balconies and pastoral valley views. Our two-bedroom apartment had a full kitchen and open-concept dining living area with two balconies. The 17 unique apartments in Montela range from studio to 4 bedroom. The décor is very chic, minimalist alpine, with wood, stone and tile throughout. With two bedrooms and two huge luxurious bathrooms, plus an additional balcony off the master bedroom, we had plenty of space to relax, unpack and feel right at home after skiing.
Montela is a very efficient and friendly rental company, taking pride in these recently built suites. You have ample free parking, and attentive service at the reception desk, located in the center of the 5 buildings of apartments for rent.
You can even order catering through Montela’s website, app, or at reception, with breakfast and dinner delivery right to your suite – including fresh bread for breakfast. We found the nearby Coop as a perfect place to provision and cook in our modern well-provisioned kitchen. Downstairs each Montela building, via elevator or stairs, are ski lockers, a boot and glove dryer, plus a laundry room – no charge – just get tokens from reception.
Montela Apartments are in the heart of Saas-Grund village, which is just quaint enough for a Swiss ski town, but not as charming or historic as car-free Saas fee 10 minutes above (by bus or car to the parking garage and village entry).
Saas-Grund has a few ski shops, bars, bakeries, a market, cafes and restaurants, and lovely views of the valley and the peaks towering above. Staying at Montela Hotel & Resort for a few days or a week of skiing the Saas-Fee region is comfortable, affordable, and pleasant, versus staying in some of the older hotels here.
See our reviews of the skiing Saas Valley’s three ski areas, with over 100 kilometers of skiing, at Saas-Grund, plus Saas-Fee and Saas-Almagell which are both on the Swiss Magic Pass.
